For years I had a melita 4 cup coffee maker and it was great with real hot coffed but I moved 3 times and it finally died. I tried to get another but they had discontinued the model. I have tried several others, mr. coffee etc. and they were ok but once you put milk in the coffee it was luke warm. I was excited to find another small melita. It is better then the others but it has some safety thing where the coffee stays hot buy not real hot and if you put in milk it is less hot. It is not as bad as luke warm but not much better. I am very disappointed.
Customer Review: A rare find - a good small coffee maker
Since I only drink 2 mugs of coffee a morning, the large coffee makers burn coffee before I’m done. It’s becoming increasingly hard to find a well designed 4/5 cup coffee maker these days. So many require a ridiculous method for removing the filter. Anyway, this Melita is good looking and has a normal swing basket. The carafe works beautifully w/no drips when you pour. While filling the plastic water reserve is easy, it makes it difficult to move the coffee maker because if you grab it by the back (which is the reserve) it slips out. Nothing spills, but it’s taken getting used to making sure my main grip is on the front basket when I move it on the counter. I highly recommend this machine.
