Customer Review: Loved my machine - why’d it stop working today after only 9 months?
My husband and I registered for this at Crate & Barrel and have been thrilled with it for 9 months now. I did immediately notice, however, that the carafe is made from very thin glass and was always scared I would break it. Other than that, the only problem I had with it was when pouring a cup of coffee, 9 times out of 10 it would leak over the sides and onto the counter if you didn’t pour very slowly and sometimes even that didn’t help. I just made a mental note that our next machine might be an upgrade from Krups or something like that, but still LOVED this machine. Imagine my horror when today, after our morning pot of coffee, it just completely stopped working! I unplugged it, changed outlets, nothing. The led display is just dead. The machine is dead. I’ve checked it every hour or so today. Nada. After doing some research online, I now see that is a common theme with this machine among people who’ve had it a while (the earliest I read of it happening was 5 months). I descaled it with vinegar every 3 months or so. Nothing in the manual addresses this situation. So, here I sit with a cup of Starbucks, writing this review. Starbucks just doesn’t measure up anymore to having my fresh ground Kona coffee and espresso (not to mention lattes and cappuccinos!) each day….very disappointed.
Customer Review: Was Fine While it Worked ……
I must echo the comments in previous reviews. This is a fine machine at first — does the job and does it well — but the instructions were very complicated, the pot is poorly designed & you end up pouring just as much coffee on the counter as you do in your cup, and after 4 months of use, mine just stopped working. I really thought this $300 machine would be the last coffee maker I would have to purchase for awhile considering my $50.00 “Mr Coffee” machine worked for 5 years and is now being used as my “backup” while I try to get a resolution with Krups. (Thank goodness I decided to hold onto it!!)

Think twice before sinking so much money into this product.

Years ago a friend of mine showed me how to make the best tasting coffee. He took a plain piece of paper towel from a kitchen roll and laid it on the top of a regular coffee mug. He put a couple of spoonfuls of ordinary ground coffee in the towel and slowly poured hot water over the coffee until the mug was full. It was a delicate and somewhat messy operation, but it was the best coffee I ever tasted. The Chemex coffee maker achieves the same results in a more organized fashion with far superior paper filters that were specifically designed for drip brewed coffee. This is the easiest and best way to make coffe by far. The Costa Ricans use a similar method and that speaks for itself.

Customer Review: Wonderful Coffee
When combined with the Chemex filter paper, this little coffee maker makes superb drip coffee. I heat 16 oz of water in the microwave in a measuring cup and pour the water into the coffee in the filter paper about 5-6 ozs at a time. The filter paper really does a great job removing bitterness from the coffee.

 Mr. Coffee Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker This is sooo easy! All you do is pour milk or water into the carafe, add chocolate powder or syrup, secure the lid, and push the “on” button. Cocomotion shuts off automatically when the cocoa is ready. And this is steamy, frothy rich cocoa too. Recipes for delicious treats like Hazelnut Cocoa and French Chocolate are included.
Customer Review: Great, perfect temperature!
This is the best hot chocolate maker I’ve used. No worries about scalding your tongue, which I used to always do! However, the Amazon price listed online is more than double the price you can buy it off the shelf at Walmart. I don’t often shop at Walmart but for the difference in cost it makes sense/cents. I use 10 oz.skim milk, 1 tablespoon powdered cocoa,2 teaspoons of Splenda (or sugar) 1 teaspoon vanilla, and a dash of salt. Turn the machine on and in a few minutes you have a hot cup of foamy hot chocolate.

I have one so I sent one to my sister for Christmas. Great fun and great hot chocolate!

Nice coffee machine!
This machine makes nice coffee. The basket is easy to fill as it isn’t tippy as are many others. The sight gauge/level on the side is easy to see, making filling with water easy. The 10 cup size is more practical and handier than the 12 cup machines I’ve had in the past. Two criticisms. The on/off swith is too easy to activate by mistake when moving the machine. Second, there is no automatic off feature, so you have to remember to turn it off before you leave the house. This is a glaring deficiency. But, overall, the Braun is a very good value.
